International Student Banquet

Cape Breton University is a truly multicultural university with hundreds of international students from dozens of countries all over the world. On March 24, 2012, the annual International Student Banquet was held at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre. The staff of CBLC participated actively in this banquet. Also, dozens of CBU students from Papua New Guinea, funded by Esso to study petroleum engineering at Cape Breton University, were also invited to attend this banquet.

The president's speech opened the banquet and it set a happy and harmonious atmosphere. The students enjoyed the traditional foods of different countries, shared their own cultural differences and talked about their achievements over the past year. The students also shared their talent with the audience. The Saudi Arabian traditional dances，the Chinese students’ imitation show and the teacher/student chorus captured the hearts of the audience and they responded with thunderous applause. Following the banquet, the students took group photos with each other to remember a wonderful year and look forward to the arrival of next year's banquet.
