On August 28th, 2013, CBLC held our first homestay meeting of the semester to thank our homestay families for being part of the program. Without them we would not be successful in giving our students the wonderful experience they deserve. The presentation introduces how the homestay process works and aims to prepare everyone for the arrival of our new students. It also includes some new things such as photos taken the houses of our homestay families, with their permission of course. We encourage all the homestay families to join our homestay committee.
The homestay families really appreciated the opportunity to offer their suggestions and obtain feedback so quickly. We hope that our students can understand our culture when they become more fluent with their English speaking skills. We believe that it takes time for the students to learn English. As long as they practice their English every day, it will start to feel easier. Being with a homestay family, our students can not only emerge themselves in real Canadian culture, but also gain valuable life experience which will benefit them in the future.
