Once the most popular sport on Cape Breton Island, candlepin bowling was a well-adored traditional sport in our community.

Located in the heart of Glace Bay, Town Centre lanes is owned and operated by the Y Men's and Women's Clubs. The Centre is an integral part of our community, raising money for community projects and charities year round.
Since the new owners purchased the club in 2009, more than $400,000 went into renovations, with all bowling lanes and equipment being remodeled and updated.
On May 13th, 2016 the CBLC Student Services Department organized an outing to the Town Centre Lanes, walked the short distance between the school and the Centre. CBLC Students and staff laced up their shoes, and for an afternoon of bowling fun. Students enjoyed the competition. Smiles and laughter filled the alleys. As the activity was a great success and resulting many lasting memories.
